The city of Enterprise is located in Coffee County in southeastern Alabama. The city was founded by John Henry Carmichael in 1881 and later incorporated in 1896. The city has been named by Where To Retire as Consumers Digest and one of the best places in America to retire. As of 2006, over 23,000 resided in the city of Enterprise, Alabama.

Enterprise is known for the Boll Weevil Monument that stands in the center of town. The statute was erected to symbolize the destruction caused by the boll weevil to the 1915 cotton crop that led to agricultural diversity in the area.
