There are plenty of places to sit and watch the world go by, but it can also be a wonderful place to just go for a walk. It’s easy to lose yourself for hours watching the butterflies, smelling the flowers, and exploring the architectural features of the gardens.

Burritt on the Mountain

  • Suggestions: In addition to the beautiful nature trails, historic park, and Burritt Mansion, the Time Travel Adventure is a new, exciting part of this eclectic venue. Educators and volunteers from the area have constructed this program to capture the fascination of kids around Huntsville. Participants can dress up like children from the 1800s, race boats down a pretend Alabama River, and navigate their way through a maze that resembles the Underground Railroad.
