Mo Show Live with Spencer Beaty

The next episode of the Mo Show Live will air Friday, January 3rd, 2020 at 3:00 PM and will feature Spencer Beaty, head men’s basketball coach of the Carter High School Hornets, located in Knox County, Tennessee. Morris and Coach Beaty will be discussing high school basketball, player development, and their upcoming Coaches vs. Cancer game benefiting the American Cancer Society. This episode will also feature a few of Coach Beaty’s players.

Coach Beaty was named the Hornets men’s head coach in 2018. He has previously coached the Sequoyah High School women’s basketball team and Gatlinburg-Pittman men’s basketball team where he was voted Coach of the Year. Coach Beaty was a four-year starter for Maryville College men’s basketball team, where Morris Lilienthal played football. After graduation, Coach Beaty stayed on at Maryville College as an associate head coach.

On January 24th, 2020, Coach Beaty’s Hornets will be participating in the Union County game in conjunction with Coaches vs. Cancer and Suits and Sneakers, which is sponsored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and college basketball. Halftime will feature a “fill the bucket” campaign to raise money for the American Cancer Society.  Since 1993, coaches have raised nearly $100 million for the American Cancer Society. Knoxville TVA Credit Union is sponsoring the game and further donating towards the cause.

Mo Show Live with H.C. Blake Company President Jim Batson

This Wednesday, we’re excited to host Jim Batson on the show to talk about his family’s company, H.C. Blake, and their historical footprint in Huntsville going back 135 years. We’ll be hearing from Jim about the ways the company has evolved over time and how they’re investing some of their success in revitalizing a growing part of town.

Over the past two years, he’s been converting a shopping center on North Memorial Parkway at Oakwood Avenue into a new 30,000-square-foot office space for the company which officially opened for business in recent weeks. The renovations include an epic showcase of Huntsville history he and his family have collected over the years. Tune in on Wednesday the 11th at 3 PM CST for a great discussion about the rich past and exciting future of Huntsville.

Morris and Christy will be discussing what Pro Bono month is about, the volunteer lawyer program that operates throughout the state, and other volunteer programs such as Wills for Heroes.

Mo Show Live with John Shulman

Morris Lilienthal with John ShulmanThe next episode of the Mo Show Live will air September 18th at 10:00 AM Central Time and will feature John Shulman, the new head coach of the UAH Men’s Basketball team. Morris and Coach Shulman will be discussing the upcoming UAH basketball season, how Coach develops players on and off of the court, and his career coaching basketball.

Coach Shulman was introduced as the head men’s basketball coach at The University of Alabama in Huntsville on May 10, 2019. He was formerly the coach at Tennessee Chattanooga from 2004 until 2013. While at Chattanooga, his team earned two NCAA tournament appearances following a pair of Southern Conference championships.

Morris and Chris will be discussing why the NCAC was founded and its history, it’s local role as a resource for sexually and physically abused kids as well as kids who have experienced traumatic events.
