Join Martinson & Beason attorney Morris Lilienthal and attorney Joel Dilorenzo for a discussion on the Zantac® drug recall on Wednesday, August 26th at 11:00 AM (CST). Through an interactive question and answer format, Morris and Joel will be discussing why the medication was recalled, what dangers it poses to those who consumed it, and the current litigation against the manufacturers of Zantac®

In an ongoing investigation by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), they’ve determined the over-the-counter drug Zantac® (Ranitidine) has been linked to cancer. Ranitidine is often used to treat digestive health ailments, such as heartburn, while prescription-strength ranitidine is used to treat or prevent issues like stomach ulcers.

The FDA announced that levels of NDMA contaminant in the medication increases over time. Sustained levels of NDMA exposure from ranitidine product have been linked to types of cancers, such as:

  • Bladder Cancer
  • Breast Cancer
  • Blood/Leukemia Cancer
  • Colorectal Cancer
  • Esophageal Cancer
  • Kidney Cancer
  • Liver Cancer
  • Lung Cancer
  • Multiple Myeloma
  • Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NHL)
  • Pancreatic Cancer
  • Prostate Cancer
