At Martinson & Beason, we are fortunate to have some incredible people on our team. One of those people is Marie Stallworth.
Marie is a mom, a wife, and a fantastic paralegal who helps keep our Personal Injury Department running smoothly. She is also a breast cancer survivor. In March 2021, Marie was diagnosed with Stage 2B Invasive Lobular Carcinoma. What followed was a difficult journey that included neoadjuvant and adjuvant treatments, a double mastectomy, and breast reconstruction.
With the support of her family, especially her husband who became her caregiver and biggest cheerleader, Marie faced this fight with courage. She also received compassionate care from the doctors and nurses at Clearview Cancer Institute, who she says treated her with empathy, professionalism, and genuine kindness.
Today, Marie is in remission and says she is surviving and thriving. The experience changed her outlook on life.
“I’m a different person since being diagnosed with cancer. I love more, and I have a greater appreciation for life and family. My mindset is constantly in a state of survival. My passion now is to provide hope, encouragement, and to build friendships with those who have been or are currently on a similar journey.”
In that spirit, Marie has created a team called Breast of Friends for the Liz Hurley Ribbon Run, a local fundraiser that supports breast cancer research and care. She hopes her team will raise awareness, funds, and most of all, hope for others who are facing breast cancer.
We are proud to support Marie and invite our community to do the same. You can join her team, donate, or share her story to help spread the word:
