If you’ve been injured in an auto accident, there are a few key things you need to keep in mind.
Notify the Police
Make sure you notify the police so that an accident report is generated. The accident report will help verify the claim for the insurance company, and any potential jury trial.
Get Contact Information
The second thing you want to keep in mind is that you get all the contact information for any witnesses. Their names and information as well as what they saw and heard can be critical to your process and your claim.
Take Pictures
Photograph the vehicles involved, the scene of the accident, and your injuries. You want to photograph any and all injuries throughout the healing process.
Seek Medical Treatment
The other thing that you want to do is make sure that you seek immediate and consistent medical treatment. Having good medical treatment not only helps you get better, which is your main goal, but it also helps document your case and tie all of your injuries back to the accident. These are the critical steps to make sure you can maximize your recovery after an accident.

At Martinson & Beason, P.C., we have answers you can trust. We will never advise our clients to settle their personal injury claims prematurely, like so many personal injury attorneys do. Contrarily, we understand the importance of waiting until all of your injuries have had time to surface so that we can accurately take everything into account when fighting for your compensation. We encourage anyone who has been involved in an accident to seek legal advice before ever assuming fault, even if you think you may have been partially to blame. Why should you wait to settle, and why should you never assume fault? Read our page on car accidents to find out.
