Police Seeking Man Who Crashed into Day Care

Day care | Personal Injury Attorney | Huntsville, AL | Martinson & Beason, P.C.Recently, tragedy struck a Florida day care center, as a two-car accident ended with one driver crashing through the wall of the day care.

According to CNN, the driver of an SUV hit another car, causing him to careen into the day care. The responsible driver fled the scene, which prompted a manhunt. The driver of the car stayed at the scene while a tow truck removed his car from the wreckage.

The crash injured 14 children and one adult, 12 of whom were taken to nearby hospitals. Tragically, one girl was killed in the accident.

It’s impossible to prepare for something like this. The parents whose children were playing at this day care could have never known that their children could be in danger of a car accident—especially while inside the building!

We feel for the parents of the children and also for the driver of the car, who must be devastated by his part in the accident—though it doesn’t seem that it was his fault that his car was forced off the road into the day care.

We hope that the driver at fault for causing the accident is held responsible to the fullest extent of the law—both criminally and civilly.

Under criminal law, the driver could possibly be charged with negligent driving and hit and run, as he left the scene of the accident.

He could also be held liable by a number of people involved in the crash. Of course, the driver of the car he struck—if he finds himself injured—could file a personal injury claim. In addition, the families of the children could bring personal injury and wrongful death claims against the driver.

If you have been injured in a car accident that wasn’t your fault, it’s important that—after seeking medical attention—you talk to a Huntsville personal injury attorney about your options.
