Manna House – Huntsville, AL

Manna House is a 501(c)3 Public Charity that provides food assistance to those in need in Madison County, Alabama. The majority of the food at the Manna House is purchased through their distribution programs, however, they do have some food that is donated and locally grown.

The motto for Manna House is “Give, Serve, and Love”. Not only does Manna House provide food assistance, they also host a variety of other programs that assist adults and children in Madison County. Below are a list of all of their active programs:

  1. Mom-To-Mom: Manna House provides diapers, wipes, clothing, equipment and lots of love to expectant mothers, new moms, and preschool mom. Phone support is available 24/7.
  1. Meals of Hope: Manna House packs 100,000 meals that they distribute to Meals of Hope. They have 2 packing sessions from 9:30 a.m. to noon and 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meals cost $0.30 each and Manna House accepts donations towards this cause.
  1. Backpack Program: This program is also known as P.E.R.K.S. (Personal Emergency Resources for Kids in School). Manna House provides snacks and ready-to-eat foods for elementary school children that lack food supplies on the weekend. It costs $14/month if you wish to be a sponsor. Volunteer hours are from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to pack P.E.R.K.S. bags.
  1. Nightly Food Distribution: This program provides food for individuals, families, and homeless in Madison County. Primary foods available include canned goods, bread, breakfast items, and desserts. Volunteer hours are from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
