Tragic Car Wreck on I-85 in Opelika Claims 3 Lives and Injures Others

A multi-car accident on Interstate 85 in Opelika (Lee County) has claimed 3 lives and seriously injured several others. According to a report by Stefanie Tiso, Irene Katherine Miller of Whaleyville, Maryland was pulling a U-haul trailer when she lost control of her vehicle and trailer causing her to cross the median and strike two vehicles that were headed southbound. Sadly, Steve Williams and Melinda Williams of West Point, Georgia were killed in the crash.

Drunk Driving Car Accident Claims Life of Lauderdale County Resident

The car wreck happened on Highway 72 near Rogersville, Alabama. According to areport, James Thomas Campbell was tragically killed when his Chevrolet pickup truck was struck by a car being driven by Richard Ray Russell of Tuscumbia. Larree Campbell a passenger in James Campbell's truck was also injured in the wreck and taken to Huntsville Hospital. Richard Ray was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

The Importance of Registering Your New Products

With the holiday season in full swing, most of us will be out shopping for all types of new products from electronic devices to home improvement items. When your tearing through the wrapping paper and boxes before you throw away that Product Registration card, STOP!! The process of filling out the registration card seems like a hassle when all you want to do is starting enjoying and using your new product; however, that little card can prevent a serious injury and/or save someone's life. I was just recently reminded of how important registering a product is. I was recently retained by a client who was severely injured when a defective product exploded in his face, causing him to lose an eye. The product had been recalled by the manufacturer for this exact problem; however, the product was never registered, so my client did not have notice the product he was using was defective.

2 Huntsville area Motorcycle Accidents Claim One Life and Injure Another

The first motorcycle wreck occurred at the intersection of U.S. 72 and Epworth Drive in Huntsville. James Travens of Huntsville was fatally injured in the crash. A Huntsville Times report indicates this was a single bike accident. The second motorcycle accident occurred at Macedonia and Hemphill roads in Toney. The driver, Robert Wendt, of Ardmore, Tennessee was seriously injured when he laid his bike down on the roadway to prevent colliding with another bike.

Multiple Cullman County Car Wrecks Claim 3 Lives

Three separate Cullman Co. Car Accidents during the October 22nd weekend resulted in three fatalities. According to a news report, the first wreck happened early Saturday morning on Alabama Highway 69 near Arab, AL. The driver, Joel Kent Cater, lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole. At this time, police are still investigating the cause of this single car accident crash. The second fatal crash happened just after 9 am on Saturday morning when, Timothy Paul Callahan lost control of his pickup truck on Alabama Highway 278 and struck a tree. There is no indication as to what caused this second single car accident.

Alabama Graduated Driver License Law

As of July 2010, Alabama now has new driver's license laws that apply to drivers' ages 15 and 16. This law dramatically changes the rules for new drivers and should be reviewed by all new drivers and their parents/guardians. Here is a summary of the new law: Stage I - Learner's Permit • Must be age 15 or older. • Must pass a written examination. • Can only drive when accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or licensed driver who is age 21 or older and occupying the seat beside the driver. Stage II - Restricted License • Must be age 16 or older.
