Research shows that there's a funny disconnect between what Americans admit they do behind the wheel and how they view themselves as drivers. Automobile Accident Death Toll Falls to Lowest Level Since 1949

The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) has released early estimates for motor vehicle accident deaths in 2010. These estimates show that 32,788 people died in car and truck wrecks on U.S. highways in 2010. If this estimate holds true, this means the number of fatalities dropped 3% from 2009. The number of automobile related deaths have steadily declined since 2005 dropping 25% from 2005 to 2010. This reduction is likely due to an increase in the use of seat belts and car seats, safer automobiles and increased traffic law enforcement.

Car Wreck Near Madison Claims Life of Decatur, AL Man

A rear end car accident near Madison, AL in Limestone County has sadly claimed the life of Stephen Lee Shankle, 21, of Decatur. According to an article by Victoria Cumbow in the Huntsville Times, the wreck happened on US Hwy 72 just four miles west of Madison. Montgomery Auto Accident Kills Mobile Resident

A car wreck on Interstate 65 in Montgomery has sadly claimed the life of 19 year old Jessica Sylvester of Mobile, Alabama. The car accident happened early Saturday morning when Ms. Sylvester's car crossed a median and struck an 18-wheeler head on. According to reports, Alabama State Troopers are still investigating this tragic accident, but believe the Mobile teenager may have been on her cell phone at the time of the crash.
